Inherited from his father, Alexander Bazhbeuk-Melikyan, Vazgen's artistic path has been one of both challenge and enlightenment, sculpting his inner vision of reality.

Started to learn painting (sketching, watercolour) form his father, Alexander Bazhbeuk-Melikyan.
1961-1964
Served in army.
1968-1973
Studied at the Moscow State Textile Institute. Awarded gold medal at the USSR Peoples' Economic Achievements Exhibition.
1975
Curated the 'Self-Portraits in Russian and Soviet Art' exhibition at the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
1976
Began to participate in Soviet and international exhibitions.
1977
Relocated to Yerevan in.
1982
Become a member of the Artist's Union of Armenia.
1985
Participated in a major avant-garde exhibition at Yerevan's Modern Art Museum.
1977
Participated in the 'Modern Art Museum at the Threshold of the 21st Century' exhibition in Yerevan.
1998
Participated at an Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art (NPAK) exhibition; Yerevan.

Solo exhibition at the Artists' Union of Armenia (60 works).
